Tap into each student's deep, intrinsic motivation to succeed

Have you ever heard a student say: "Why do I have to take this course? It's not even in my major. I'm never going to use this stuff anyway."

Academic Breakthrough answers that question honestly and students finally get it.

✔ Students discover how the courses they're struggling with are connected to their hearts’ desires and hopes for the future.

✔ My approach helps all students, especially those at-risk for failing.

✔ My approach produces generous returns in qualitative (attitudinal) and quantitative (academic performance) results.

Students Enjoy Their Studies

Challenges begin to be minimized, abilities strengthened, and joy increased along the way, as more modules and supporting materials are utilized from this approach.

Faculty Enjoy Their Work

We connect more with students and interact with the sense of adventure they experience at this exciting stage of their lives,.  And guess what happens then? We get to pause and remember why we got into our line of work in the first place.

Students Maintain Their Vision

  • Students get excited about and sold on gaining a college degree.

  • Students are equipped to persevere when things get tough.

  • Students know to expect speedbumps and learn how to negotiate them.

Group Discussion

"But we already have Developmental Studies,
University 101,
First Year Experience Seminars,
and Academic Success Centers.
Doesn't this cover the same ground?"

No. Academic Breakthrough addresses niche areas that partially or totally fall outside of most of these programs.

My materials help students “buy in” to each and every course they take by helping them see how the course objectives in the syllabi can align with their life and career goals.

Improved student performance and understanding of competencies gained builds the value of a college education as students advance through college and move into their professional careers.

Might this not improve student loyalty to the alma mater that translates into greater numbers of alumni joining your alumni association, and more becoming donors to the college endowment and mission?

How I Know This Works

These are the changes I experienced in my own history survey and developmental studies classes:
